Hassan Whiteside has been one of the upsides of the dissapointing season for the Miami Heat. After spending some time playing basketball overseas, Whiteside emerged as a defensive anchor and also produced on the offensive side for the Heat. He was also a frontrunner for the Most Improved Player reward and was third in voting. Whiteside averaged a double double with points and rebounds. He has proven to be a valuable asset for the Heat and made up for the loss of Chris Bosh and Josh McRoberts and finally provided the heat with a much needed big man.
